Q: Why should I hire a guide?
A: Hiring a guide is a great way to enjoy a day on the water with friends. Fishing is a past time enjoyed by millions. Large bodies of water can be breath taking and the time spent enjoying natures beauty are memories that last lifetimes. Hiring a guide is also a great investment if you are wanting to learn. The amount a guide charges can be spent easily in a couple of trips. A guide ensures a safe and trouble free trip and hopefully brings years of experience to table. No fuel to buy, no bait to buy or catch, no boat to pull, no equipment to buy. Take your time and hire a guide with plenty of experience pick a guide based on what you want from a trip. Ask plenty of questions. If you are on navigable waters hire a USCG licensed captain.
Q: Can I keep fish?
A: Sure, anything under 10lbs. Anything over 10lbs will be released. Bring a cooler with ice to take home your catch. I don't clean fish, that'll be up to you.
Q: Do you guarantee to catch fish?
A: No. Every day is different and it is fishing. The fish decide whether to bite or not. I can guarantee that I will work hard and do my best to increase our odds.
Q: How many people can go?
A: Up to 5, although we can usually accommodate larger groups with multiple boats. Give me a call to discuss larger groups.
Q: When is the best time to go?
A: All seasons have their challenges, most of the year can be great! June and July are the toughest months to catch "big" fish in my area.
Q: Can I bring my own equipment?
A: You can if you want but I highly discourage it. I have all the equipment needed.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: You will need a fishing license, food and drink, sunscreen, clothing appropriate for the weather.
Q: Where will we be fishing?
A: We will fish where you have the best chance of meeting your goals. Where depends on goals, river conditions, and time of year.
Q: Can I drink alcohol on the boat?
A: As long as you aren't belligerent and are in compliance with the law I don't care.
Q: Can I take both a fishing trip and a "big fish" trip at the same time?
A: Generally, no. While on a small fish trip you may catch a big one but targeting one or the other requires different equipment and techniques.
Q: Do you offer trips to help tournament anglers on unfamiliar water?
A: Yes
